Mimm Patterson Palo Alto, California
Mimm teaches with joy, humility and humor. Introduced to yoga in 1984 she began teaching alignment-focused classes in 1994. After being certified to teach Yin in 2010, Mimm shifted her attention from pure alignment and now draws from several yoga traditions to build safe and reflective practices. Mimm teaches at several yoga studios in the Bay Area. She also shares the healing power of Yin with chronic pain clients through a nationally known functional restoration program. Her teaching role models include, in addition to the Grilleys: Gary Kraftstow, Katie Holcomb and Judith Hanson Lasater.
A writer and artist, Mimm’s health and wellness essays have appeared in India Currents and Yoga Living Magazine. She is a massage therapist who has studied anatomy with Gil Hedley. Mimm is beginning work toward her yoga therapy teacher training credential at Niroga Institute in Berkeley. She will complete her masters degree in transpersonal psychology with a specialty in transformational life coaching early next year.
