Contact Information

Ilse Broekaert     Brisbane, Manly (Lota)

I am originally from Belgium, where yoga is still taught in the traditional vein, with the asana practice as one step in the 8-fold yoga path, so I practiced for 30 years with truly mindful and compassionate teachers. It took up teaching yoga in 2010, after studying in Australia, India, Belgium and The Netherlands. Through the last years I realised that my own yoga practice was always yin, to counterbalance my yang nature (or pitta constitution). I then trained with Jo Phee (who acknowledges her lineage with Paul Grilley and Sarah Powers) and I now teach yin yoga, alongside hatha yoga classes, in Brisbane's bayside area.

Kate McKenna      Devonport, Tasmania

Kate has instructor certifications for Yin Level 1 and 2, Hatha yoga, aerial yoga and self myofascial release.  She loves Yin because absolutely everyone can do it - it's the perfect introduction to the yoga world for those starting their journey.  It's also a crucial balance for experienced practitioners of the Yang styles, those with a fitness regime and/or anyone with a crazy busy life.

Kate’s classes weave an anatomical focus, a fostering of self acceptance, ideas on dealing with life’s stresses and lots of time without dialogue to cultivate mindfulness. All of which is underpinned by playlists that surprise—Tibetan Singing Bowls are not for everyone—and strengthen the relaxed vibe.
