Irene walked into her first yoga class in 2009 with knee joint damage, flexibility issues, and despondent. Yoga helped with the physical issues, but what kept bringing her back to her mat were the mental and emotional benefits. Irene feels passionately about all aspects of yoga – beyond the asana. Naturally she gravitated toward Yin Yoga for the meditative aspects, as well as the ability to slow down and breathe.
Irene started teaching a Yin style restorative yoga class in November 2013 and followed up with additional training with Bernie Clark in May 2014. Irene is a Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga Teacher and is certified in Vinyasa, Yin, and Hot yoga. She is currently working on her aromatherapy certification and starting at Ayurvedic Institute in the fall of 2014.
