Yin asana was part of the physicality of my childhood, if I’d only realized it. I’ve been actively studying yin for seven years, teaching for three.
Yin yoga is a meditative, physical and emotional practice in my teaching. Force acts on the body, engaging connective tissue, settling muscle and creating generative compression in the bones, as the mind exercises the kindly discipline of stilling. Each moment one decides to remain in the pose, enters the space between stimulus and response… each moment requires attention within the body.
With yin certifications from Alana Kessler in New York, and Bernie Clark in Vancouver, I’m also a 200 hour RYT, and I have an active teaching practice that includes yin, Hatha vinyasa, and restorative yoga, in studios, corporate offices and private sessions in Brooklyn and Manhattan.
