Hi, can anyone give recommendations for thick yoga mats that would be good for yin yoga? Thanks!

I use what is called a Mysore Practice Rug over an ordinary 1/4" thick yoga mat. The practice rug is made of thick woven cotton and makes sliding a foot or a leg behind or under you easy. I obtained my rug online from Barefoot Yoga several years and use it every day. It shows almost no sign of wear. Namaste.

And practising on a thick carpet or rug also works. We don't do standing postures in Yin Yoga, so we don't need a sticky mat.

i use a gymnastics mat for my yin yoga practice, i found a normal yoga mat wasn't soft enough for practicing yin.
