Silke Whittaker

Silke Whittaker  Hastings and Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand

Silke teaches a slow Hatha Yoga flow as well as Yin Yoga classes with Yin being her passion. When she went to her first Yin Yoga session, she knew she arrived in her “yoga home” after exploring different yoga styles for many years. She is using a set of 13 Tibetan Singing Bowls in her Yin Yoga sessions to complement the meditative aspect and support her students to find the relaxation and respite they are coming for while at the same time stimulating their bodies in a beautifully mindful and gentle practice. Silke trained with Karin Sang and Markus Giess from Yin Therapy and is forever grateful for those teachings, opening up a much deeper understanding of anatomical differences in the body.  Silke also really enjoys to hold special workshops for her students and community to introduce different self care and yoga techniques as well as sound healing and essential oil education.
