Mike Morris

Mike Morris    Nottingham

Mike’s love of Yoga began in the early 1970’s, when Yoga was much less popular than it is today. His current style of choice is Yin Yoga. Mike’s discovery of the work of American Paul Grilley and of Yin Yoga has been a revelation to him. Mike believes that a key aspect of Yin Yoga is that it is non-dogmatic in that it allows the practitioner to access poses according to their unique individual structure–that it is simple and direct and is accessible to everyone–and that it works. Yin Yoga is therefore a truly universal Yoga. Mike also believes that in the fullness of time, Yin Yoga will gain increased recognition for the superb practice that it is and will become as well known and as well practiced as such established and distinguished Yang styles as Iyenga Yoga and Ashtanga Yoga.
Mike became a certified Yoga teacher in 2003. He is a Yoga Register Teacher (YRT) with the Independent Yoga Network (IYN) and a member of the British Yoga Teachers Association (BYTA).
