Kim Richardson

Kim Richardson      Birmingham

Kim decided to pursue teacher training with a goal of creating the yoga community she was seeking — One that is diverse, inclusive, and welcoming to people of all shapes, sizes, and abilities.

She obtained her 200-hour Vinyasa certification in 2018 after which she created the Yes You Yoga Group. In 2021, she obtained her 500-hour designation. She has certifications in chair, children’s, restorative, and oncology yoga, and is trained in accessible yoga and trauma informed practices.

In 2020, she was the first yoga teacher in Alabama to go into Donaldson Correctional Facility to lead a pilot program for incarcerated men under the Prison Yoga Project. After the passage of legislation in 2021 allowing yoga in Alabama’s public schools, she became one of three teachers leading a pilot yoga program in Birmingham City Schools.  She is currently enrolled in a certified yoga therapy program.
