Julianne Serpa

Julianne Serpa      Annapolis

Julianne calls herself a “Teacher of Yoga and Other Wonders” including kirtan, poetry, and dreamwork. With a background in psychology and a career dedicated to service, Julianne approaches her work with empathy and a unique understanding of disability and resilience as she continues her studies as a Yoga Therapist and Ayurvedic Health Counselor.

Yoga has deepened and evolved over the course of over two decades of her practice, particularly during times of personal hardship. Once a dedicated Bikram and Ashtanga practitioner, a mastectomy forced her to slow down and discover yin — an experience that radically awakened her to the healing power of yoga. After ten years as a “yinster” under the guidance of esteemed yoga therapists Tina Lanzoni and Jessie Rhines, Julianne sought formal training with the Pranakriya School of Yoga Healing Arts and further with Machelle Lee.

Committed to fostering compassionate spaces free from judgment and dogma, Julianne gives students permission to explore their unique experience of yoga and receive their discoveries with curiosity and grace.
