Julia Long

Julia Long        Ottawa

Julia trained under a direct student of Paul Grilley in both basic and Advanced Yin & Sasy Cacace’s “Approaching the Functional: YTT”.  She has over 100 hours of training dedicated to Yin Yoga.

Julia teaches a functional approach over an aesthetic approach. We are all different on the insides as well as the outsides, she says.  It does not matter how you look in the pose but how you feel in the pose she states often.

She is co-founder of F.R.Y. First Responders’ Yoga Canada, and Yin Yoga is an important element of F.R.Y. The Method developed for first responders.  She shares this expertise of mindful injury-prevention whenever she leads a Yin class. She is the only teacher trainer of Classical Yoga Nidra in Canada, bringing energy flow and mind-set into her Yin classes. Students are very well taken care of in a nurturing and safe environment. She believes one must practice what they teach.
