Dharamchari Sudaka Valencia, Spain
I started practicing yoga in 1987 as a high school student and went on to do Iyengar yoga teacher Training after University in Leeds, UK. After a year in Thailand, attending some Vipassana courses, I developed a strong affinity with meditation. I have always felt that body-work, and meditation are deeply interwoven practices. Discovering Yin yoga via a yoga buddy in 2002 I took to this approach with much enthusiasm, seeing a very obvious and clear demonstration of what I always felt to be the case.
I was fortunate then to go on and do some workshops with Paul Grilley and Sarah Powers to help develop and give confidence in teaching this method. I teach around Valencia, mainly in Spanish. In my classes, which are largely based on the Dynamic yoga form (Godfri Devereux) I blend a more Yin approach. In retreat and workshop contexts the Yin yoga poses provide an easy gateway to experiencing oneself more deeply and reaching into those nooks and crannies other forms of yoga simply cannot reach.
