Christy Newsome RYT500    Smyrna

Christy has been studying and practicing yoga for over 20 years. She is a registered teacher at the E-500 level and a YACEP, providing continuing education to current yoga teachers, as well as a lead trainer in a 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training Program in Smyrna, GA. She also has a certification for Professional Yoga Therapy from Etowah Valley Yoga.

She came to yoga for relief from migraine pain and found so much more! She now enjoys sharing the gift of yoga with others. Her philosophy is that yoga can help create space and freedom in mind and body. She encourages students to honor their bodies and to let go of ego. Focus is on safe alignment, breath awareness, and FEELING a pose in your body, rather than achieving some idea of a “perfect pose.” She loves teaching Yin Yoga as a complement to the more traditional Yang practices we see most often in the western world.
