Christine Lamothe Iqaluit
Christine “Lil*Bear” Lamothe, originally from Ottawa, moved to Canada’s arctic in 2006. She opened a yoga studio in Iqaluit so that she could help bring healing to those who need it. She started practicing yoga in 1998 through a Bikram practice. This then opened the door to years of Kundalini yoga, Ashtanga, Kripalu and then vinyasa. Trying her first Yin class in 2008, she realized that this was an important practice to compliment her intense lifestyle as a bgirl (break dancer), skateboarder, snowboarder and over all adrenaline junkie. Lil*Bear finally got her vinyasa YTT in 2011 and has been making a point to learn different specialies each year, such as: Envision Yoga 2012, Yin Yoga with Bernie 2013, Forrest Yoga – Advanced YTT 2014.
“In a world where we are asked to produce and think all the time, it’s important to connect to yin qualities regularly. My students get so much out of it and I’m so thankful that I can offer this to my community.”
