I was first introduced to the practice of Yin Yoga in 2001 when attending a workshop on yin yoga with Jeff Martens. The following year I met Paul Grilley through the Yoga Vision Conference in Tempe, and have attended a workshop with Paul at every opportunity since that time. I have been fortunate that my studio has offered a variety of yin yoga classes since that initial introduction in 2001, and I have studied consistently with Kat Myers, Aaron Goldberg and Jeff Martens throughout that time. In 2004 I was offered the opportunity to begin teaching yin yoga classes at Inner Vision Yoga in Chandler, Arizona.
The practice of yin yoga drew me in with its wonderful hip-opening and lower back-strengthening poses — areas of my body that need its nurturing attention. Once involved in the practice, I became aware of the delightful meditative and contemplative quality of the slow, deep movements, which speak to my soul as much as to my body. It is my priviledge and pleasure to be a yin yoga instructor, and offer this beautiful practice to my students.
