Ever the inquisitive soul, Akai began her yoga journey by exploring and practicing community yoga at the local library. As her practice has matured into a deep passion and respect for eastern philosophy, she has completed Classical Yoga Teacher Training and is registered with Yoga Alliance. As a Certified Thai Yoga Therapist she incorporates Yin Yoga, deep muscle compression, energy work and soft tissue manipulation to create a delightful rhythmic dance. The results are profound! One of a select group of registered prenatal instructors in the state of Georgia, she serves the birthing community as a Child Birth Educator, and Labor and Postpartum Doula. Akai is the owner at Embrace the Lotus Yoga and Bodywork, and as an ongoing dedication to her craft, she will complete Professional Yoga Therapy certification training October 2014.
