Ajay Babbar

Ajay Babbar    New Delhi

Ajay is passionate about the inner engineering of the body and mind. Athletic and adventurous, he experienced several physical injuries, and was able to heal them by following the Ahimsa approach in asana practise. He served as a voluntary teacher at Sivananda Centres before beginning independently with Sapna, his wife and Senior Teacher at Shoonya Shala, their Urban Yoga Studio in India. Ajay initiated with Sivananda Yoga tradition and followed with teacher trainings and education in other disciplines, Krishnamacharya, Ashtanga and Yin Yoga. Personally enjoys practising and teaching a non traditional (discipline) sequence and Yin Yoga.

Ajay’s classes follow a Yin approach to Hatha Yoga, integrating the unique features of various disciplines and teachers he has worked with. Yin or Yang, he likes to term his personal practise and class teaching as moving meditation. He returns to his Primary teachers regularly and pursues continuing education in Yoga and assisting teacher trainings.
