Yin for hyper mobile people

Post by Whawbaker »

Hello Everyone.
I would be interested in hearing your thoughts on hyper mobile people practicing yin yoga.
Thanks in advance.

HI Wendy

May I refer you to an article on this in the Newsletters? It is called Hypermobility and Yoga. But, before you can even ask this question, it is worth while to look at what causes the hypermobility. It generally comes down to 1 of 3 things:
  • An injury to a joint
A connective tissue disorder (like Marfan Syndrome), or
    The shape of the bones.
In the first 2 cases, people should be careful of doing any yoga or exercises to that affected joints. But, in the third case, their "hypermobility" is totally safe and normal for them and not a worry.

Cheers
Bernie
