I am recovering from a torn meniscus in my knee. I am walking normally again (not limping and unassisted) but I do still feel some discomfort in my knee after walking or exercising to any length of time.

Could Yin Yoga help this or is it recommended that I wait?

Definitely there are things you can do to help your knees. There has been many forum discussions on this topic. Check out these past posts:

There is also a whole sub-forum that deals with knee issues.
Hope this all helps

Just wanted to update. Due to my previous knee injury it has been recommended that I hold off on Yin Yoga.

Maybe next year I guess

When was your surgery?

I had both knees scoped (about 2 years apart) and, for sure, I could not do any yoga right away, but by 3 months I did find some poses really therapeutic. I talk about my experience in Newsletter #7.

Cheers

I did not have surgery, per the MD he would do surgery if I wanted it but he did not think it was necessary, even though it was torn in two places. Basically he is saying it will get better, it will take time, don't push it.

And he has been right so far, it is getting better, but yoga would be pushing it so.....

Maybe next year

And to clarify, when I say better I mean being able to walk without pain and get back to normal activity. It is wearing in more than it is getting better. Kind of like sand paper on wood.
