Abnormal flexibility

Post by Skyland2001 »

Hi Bernie
I have seen a girl, who can do the full lotus and at the same time W-sit with even elevated feet. Can you explain how is this possible?
Thanks
Bernie

There are some people with very shallow acetabula which provides for a much greater range of movements in all direction. Or they may have a longer femoral neck. Or both! These people, however, may not have as much stability in their hip joints and, as mentioned in Your Body, Your Yoga (page 108), they also tend to suffer more osteoarthritis later in life.

Hi, it's so complicated, I love watching the body movement of people like that, how flexible they are, how in control of their body. It's unbelievably beautiful. I still have a lot of work to do! :D
