A question about yin yoga and improving flexibility

Post by RobLewis »

I have only been practicing a week, my own routine of yin yoga poses that inspire me for digestion and such, and i am already noticing an improvement in my flexibility. I am holding each pose for 3 minutes. I am curious if there are some tips to increase flexibity even faster in certain poses. Such as long holds, more reps, anything? Thanks in advance

The "yin" attitude is to take it easy. Why rush? (That's yang thinking) If you are already seeing progress, be happy. Trying to do more, faster may end up counter productive. If you insist, experiment a little, but carefully: longer holds, longer sessions, more times per week...but again, don't overdo it. Take your time.

Cheers
